In a US context, base stage funding to government plays strongly to support innovation from philanthropy to finally more commercial involvement.
Together, we will discuss how this process can help us understand what other regions are doing to shape our own strategies whilst gaining insight on possible new models.

As Deputy Chief, Strategic Engagement and Entrepreneurial Relations, Eric Kostegan leads the Mount Sinai Health System’s efforts to elevate strategic support for innovative programs and collaborative partnerships worldwide. To this unique role, Eric brings a wealth of experience from a program development, entrepreneurial, international relations, and fundraising background.
Eric is known as a program builder with a passionate, impact-driven, and entrepreneurial approach. Over his career, he has demonstrated the ability to lead disparate, multi-cultural and international teams and has proven success engaging high-level individual, government and corporate leadership to support research, clinical, infrastructure and new venture development initiatives.
Eric previously served as Senior Director of Global Initiatives at Massachusetts General Hospital where he led resource and partnership development efforts, identifying and cultivating international and US-based high net worth investors, corporate and foundation funders, government leaders and program partners in Asia, Africa, Europe and North America.
